The Netherlands welcomes a new CDI in Schaijk

There is a new CDI coming to the Netherlands in 2021. The newly renovated equestrian centre “Dutch Equestrian Estate” in Schaijk will host the competition from 22 to 25 April.

CDI3* Schaijk

The new CDI Schaijk meets the demand for an international outdoor dressage competition in the Netherlands. This new initiative is an idea of Thomas and Sanne van Heel, owners of the complex. The event should, among other things, put the Dutch Equestrian Estate on the international map and also support international dressage in the Netherlands. The CDI Schaijk will be a high-quality show with CDI3 * Big Tour and Small Tour classes, as well as the youth classes for the U25, Young Riders, Juniors, Ponies and Children.

We’re delighted

The organization will be in the hands of Fenna Roefs and Koen Gomes. “We are delighted to take on the organization as RFS Events,” says Roefs. “Thomas and Sanne are of course well known in the show jumping and eventing world but have asked me if I want to take responsibility for the dressage competitions at the Dutch Equestrian Estate. This is how the organization for this CDI was created. I approached Koen to support me and so we will take care of the organization of the event together. We complement each other very well; Koen will focus on the sports technical and I will be more concerned with the commerce and the content of the event. We are a young and dynamic team with a clear vision.”

Big demand

Gomes is also looking forward to CDI3* Schaijk 2021. “It is fantastic to have a new international competition in the Netherlands”, he adds. “After losing the competition in Nieuw en Sint Joosland, demand was high, and we are meeting that demand. I am proud to be part of this and we will do everything we can to organize a great event there. The organization is already in full swing and we hope to welcome everyone to Schaijk next year”.

Jumping and eventing

CDI Schaijk goes hand in hand with the international show jumping competition ‘CSI Dutch Equestrian Estate’ in the week before (14-18 April 2021) and the international eventing competition ‘CCI Dutch Open Eventing’ (29 April – 2 May 2021) the week after the CDI.
There is also a CDI organised in the calendar later in 2021. This competition will be held from 23 until 26 September. In between, two national competitions will be organized in May and July. These competitions will also be organised by Roefs and Gomes.
